MY DEAR FRIENDS KRIS HUIZENGA AND ROB HILLMAN
For many years my summers in Sotogrande are mainly, I talk about sports, dedicated at the Polo matches. I am a real polo fan; you can read about it in this Web.
But I have another sport too which all my life here in Sotogrande keeps me pleasantly busy: golf. Not that I really would pretend playing it, although I had already my golf clubs in Holland and that is indeed quite some time ago.
My relation with golf here started partly through my daughter Anna van Loon. Just fifteen she got offered the opportunity to become hostess at the Volvo Masters at Valderrama.
And that was the start of a warm and close relation with Valderrama, with players, officials of Volvo and especially with the physiotherapists of the PGA.
My daughter kept on being a hostess during many Volvo Masters and “graduated” with honor as hostess in the Presidents Suite during the Ryder Cup.
Those being the same years in which I helped lots of Dutch business managers discovering Sotogrande and playing our fantastic golf courses, with always our number one course, Valderrama, as the most desired one on their lists.
I still have many photographs as memories of that time. Memories that always come back and cumulate when the physiotherapy unit with my friends returns and when of course Volvo returns.

When we talk about Valderrama no one will doubt that we talk about the best golf course of Europe.
