THE FUTURE OF SOTOGRANDE
Wednesday, the 7th of October 2009, I was invited at a business conference organized by the HCP group in the installations of the beautiful club house of “La Reserva”.
The subject: “Keys for a progressive future.”
It was good and useful. We changed opinions and visions on our Sotogrande of today and tomorrow, with a general and positive tone: we all believe that we live and work in one of the best places in this world.
We represented almost all business sectors of Sotogrande and we had the pleasure to be also within the company of one of the top specialists in urban affairs and real estate matters, José Antonio Pérez, director of the institute of business practice “IPE”. (I myself was once one of his students and learned a lot from him.)
I would like to congratulate José Luis García for his initiative and work.
I know José Luis, founder of the first and only publishing company in Sotogrande, for many years. I remember conversations with him about his idea to give Sotogrande an own newspaper. We go back to the beginning of the nineties. Years with the information about Sotogrande mostly limited to a cover and one or two pages with pictures and some text. Those magazines wrote mainly about Marbella and tried only to get advertisements from companies in Sotogrande.
I promised José Luis to support his idea with the advertising of my previous real estate agency Merweval, but under the condition that his publications should at least write for fifty percent or more about Sotogrande. José Luis fulfilled this condition, as I did; we became one of his prominent advertisers.
I admire the capacity and continuity of José Luis. I enjoy his publications, like the Periodico of Sotogrande, La Revista and La Bocha. It is a good feeling knowing that we for so many years already keep on battling for the same objective: to maintain and improve the quality of our Sotogrande!
