Sunday Sonatas: A date you can’t miss

This was one of the first initiatives of the Cultural Association of Sotogrande and with time, is has turned into a very important event for all those music lovers. The last date took place at the end of February, counting with the presence of the young pianist Héctor Espiga Montosa……
Each time the expectation created by the Sunday Sonatas grows, this can be seen in the number of people that come to the Hotel Sotogrande. In the last occasion, on the 26th of February, the pianist from Málaga Héctor Espiga was the person in charge of pleasing the audience, who came to the hotel, turning this cultural date in a social meeting, other of the aims of the people in charge of the Cultural Association of Sotogrande.
At 1 o’clock, the president, Adrian van Loon, started the act presenting the young pianist Héctor Espiga Montosa, who begun to play interpreting with a special sensitivity all of the pieces. He played Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and Albeniz.
The Sunday Sonatas are characterised since the beginning, in giving opportunities to young musicians. For these musicians this is a great opportunity to get used to act in front of public. In this case Héctor Espiga, although the is still very young, he is an expert, he was prized with the ” Segunda Mención Categoria de Grado Medio en la Muestra de Jóvenes Interpretes Malagacrea 2004″. The pianist natural from the capital of the Costa del Sol, started in the music world with the age of seven, his god mother was Irene Rodriguez. He began to study in the Professional Music Conservatorium Manuel Carra, concluding with the Medium Grade with highlighted grades. At the moment, he studies in the Superior Music Conservatorium of Málaga, under the cares of the Piano Professor José Felipe Díaz. But apart from the piano, Héctor also plays the violin, at the moment he is on the Third Medium Grade with Antonio Torés.
